GOLDEN ODYSSEY – GO!
DAY 1 – Arrival to Piran
Our journey begins on the Slovenian coast, more precisely in Piran. Sailors from countries all around Europe will gather in the port throughout the day. Although first day will not be at the sea, it will be packed with all sorts of fun activities for everyone to enjoy. Our partners will make sure that all needs are taken care of. Purpose of this day is to acquaint families, friends, couples, etc. with the same interest: SAILING! First day will end with an easy festival-like party in the open where sailors will get the last bits of important information before the journey, and most importantly, have fun.
DAY 2 – Piran – Pula (45 NM: 7,5 h)
Let the adventure of your lifetime begin! At exactly 7 am, the Golden Odyssey officially starts. 30+ sailboats, all at the same time lifting their sails and heading towards Greece. First, we will have to stop in Novigrad to make entrance into Croatia official. During this procedure, assistance will be offered to anyone who will be needing help. After seven hours at sea, we will reach our first destination- Pula. City, known to everyone because of its giant ancient Colosseum right next to the sea. After we get settled in, a tour of Colosseum will be offered to anyone interested and eager to further educate themselves about the Roman culture. Our partners will make sure that restaurants will be already waiting for us with special GO! prices and offers.
DAY 3 – Pula – Mali Lošinj (35 NM: 6 h)
After everyone wakes up, we can continue our journey. At exactly 8 am sails will be lifted, and we will be on our way to Lošinj. Beautiful city of Mali Lošinj in the southern part of Kvarner will already be waiting for us with everything they can offer. After six hours of smooth sailing, we will reach our destination. Towards the evening, a small stage and local vendors offering fish products and local wine will be set up for us and everyone else in the city. We will mix and engage with locals and find out more about their culture, with local music playing in the background.
DAY 4 – Mali Lošinj – Sali (50 NM: 8,5 h)
Full of beautiful memories about Lošinj, we will head towards a small city on the famous island Dugi Otok, called Sali. This small city, consisting of only few restaurants and few stores is also our first stop in Northern Dalmatia. Even though Sali is a small city, it has one of the most famous bars in all of Croatia, named Maritimo, where we will party long into the night.
DAY 5 – Sali – Rogoznica (40 NM: 7 h)
Everyone a little tired from night before, we will start our seven-hour journey towards Rogoznica. Small fishing town, sitting on a peninsula stretching from the mainland. When we get there, cliff jumping into the Dragon’s eye will be organised. The small lake right next to the sea is a true natural anomaly. After dinner in our partner restaurants, we will head back to the boats and call it a day.
DAY 6 – Rogoznica – Vis (30 NM: 5 h)
We will start our sixth day with a 30 NM regatta from Rogoznica to island Vis or in other words, across the Viško more. When we reach Vis, a scooter tour will be organized, so we can ride to Fort George, a 200 year-old Fort build by the British in 1811, after defeating the French navy in the Battle of Vis. Later on, we can also visit city Komiža on the other side of the island. Like everywhere else, our partner restaurants will make sure to give us the best that Vis can offer for the best prices. After dinner, we can take a walk through the city and admire the beautiful local architecture.
DAY 7 – Vis – Vieste (70 NM: 12 h)
After an easy and relaxing day in Vis, we are in for the biggest sailing challenge to this day. Offshore sailing from Croatia all the way across to Italy. This Adriatic crossing will take us 12 hours, but we will enjoy every minute of it. After passing Palagruža we reach the Gargano peninsula, where we sail into Vieste. Berths and dinner for everyone will be ready to be served. We can all imagine we will be quite tired, so our first night in Italy will be as peaceful as it gets.
DAY 8 – Vieste – Mola di Bari (65 NM: 11 h)
As we travel further down the “Italian boot,” we will reach the city Mola di Bari. A beautiful and magnificent city, just south of Bari in the Southern Adriatic Italy. Sailing along the Italian coast will take us 9 hours that will fly by because of the spectacular sea views. When we reach the destination, famous for its seafood (especially octopus), locals will offer us their best culinary specialities.
DAY 9 – Mola di Bari – Brindisi (50 NM: 8,5 h)
Our day will begin at 8 in the morning, when we will set sail for another Italian destination, Brindisi. The famous port city with historical significance will welcome us right in the centre, where we will berth on the city Riva. From there, a guided tour of the old town will be organised by local tourist guides. In early evening, there will be many options for shopping and getting acquainted with local culture. After that, a dinner in one of our partner restaurants will follow.
DAY 10 – Brindisi – Otranto (40 NM: 7 h)
For our last day in the Italian part of the Adriatic Sea, we will slowly sail for 7 hours towards Otranto, a small town with gorgeous beaches and crystal-clear sea. When we reach our destination, everyone will be encouraged to relax and enjoy one of the beautiful beaches. Later on, a local Italian pizzeria will welcome us with traditionally made fresh wood oven pizzas. We will conclude our last night in Italy with a glass of good local wine.
DAY 11 – Otranto – Corfu (60 NM: 10 h)
Greece, here we come! Our longest voyage will take us across the Strait of Otranto to one of the most popular Greek islands, Corfu. After sailing all day, we will all be able to enjoy magnificent views of mountains on the island and see the Odyssey shipwreck: a rock that represents the sunken ship of Odyssey. Tired after the arrival, a traditional Greek dinner will be organized in one of the local tavernas.
DAY 12 – Corfu – Paxos (35 NM: 6 h)
New day, new Greek island! We’ll sail along Corfu coast towards Paxos, a small island laying between Corfu and Lefkas. We will moor in Gaios, a beautiful anchorage with a charming little fishing village sitting on the shore. The village is surrounded by countless olive and cypress trees, giving it a traditional Greek feeling.
DAY 13 – Paxos – Lefkas (35 NM, 6 h)
On our last sailing day, we will finally reach our end destination – Lefkas! We will make it more interesting with having a final regatta – 30 NM on the open sea, from one island to another. Our last sailing day in Greece will finish with victoriously passing the Lefkas bridge and sailing into the marina. From the moment we step off the sailing boats, a festival will start near marina, with food, drinks, music, and everything else we need. There will also be a closing ceremony and participation reward for everyone who completed the whole journey. Of course, we will not forget for the big regatta winners, who will be accumulating their points throughout the trip.
DAY 14 – Spare day
